Why Ellis Island: The Evolution & Its Impact In-Person

Join us as we welcome back renowned historian Dennis Heaphy to OFL as he shares the transformative history of Ellis Island, tracing its journey to becoming the busiest immigrant inspection station in the United States—and ultimately, a national symbol of the American Dream.

Dennis Heaphy is a historic reenactor with the Ellis Island Museum of American Immigration as well as being physically involved in the ongoing restoration of both the Statue of Liberty and the Ellis Island facility.

This program is funded by the Friends of Onondaga Free Library.
