AI: The Last Invention In-Person
Join OFL's Digital Services & Technology Librarian and Maxwell Memorial Library's Technology Librarian for a look at the history of Artificial Intelligence (AI), from its first conception during the height of World War II to the AI-saturated world we find ourselves in today. Topic to be discussed include: the origins of Artificial Intelligence as a discipline within Computer Science; the first debates surrounding its creation; breakthrough AIs like ELIZA, Watson, Deep Blue, AlphaGo, and ChatGPT; and a brief look at how modern generative AIs actually work. A Q&A will follow.
For teens (ages 14+) & adults | REGISTRATION REQUIRED
