Windows 10: The End

Windows 10: The End In-Person

On October 14, 2025, Microsoft's support for Windows 10 will officially end. After that date, any devices still running Windows 10 will no longer receive security updates, technical assistance, or new features. Those PCs will still work; they just won't be secure. Microsoft recommends upgrading to Windows 11 before the October deadline if you want your PC to remain safe to use. But what if your laptop or desktop can't run Windows 11? What if you don't want to pay for a new computer just because Microsoft won't allow you to upgrade your current machine? In this one-session class, OFL's  Digital Services and Technology Librarian will provide options for what to do when Windows 10 reaches the end. Learn about paid options to keep Windows 10 secure, cost-effective alternatives to the Windows operating system, and options for securely disposing of your old Windows 10 device.
